Joyce, 97

Joyce grew up in Sydney and faced a tough childhood after losing her father at just 29, but she worked hard to help her family. She spent much of her time with her neighbour and close friend Irene, sharing secrets through a loose brick in the wall between their houses and even getting into trouble for doing some of Irene’s homework. Joyce enjoyed sewing and knitting, often making jumpers for friends, and even knitted during movie outings. She also played the banjo with Irene, joining a banjo group together. These days she loves music, happily joining in any singing, and enjoys spending time with animals, especially when the dogs visit. One thing she wishes she had done is travel overseas.
